Greetings from all of us here at Serenity Now.
We just received the fantastic news that we can open on Monday, May 4th, at 25% capacity (17 people or less at one time inside the store).
For the past sixteen years, we have used a lighthouse in our logo to represent a beacon of hope and a port in the storm. Now more than ever, we feel urged to be there for our fabulous customers. In return, I (Brooke) want to thank all of you for the phone calls, the prayers, and the positive energy that you sent our way. Our first week of opening we will have the revised hours of 10AM-6PM. If we extend those hours we will notify you via email.
I heard a speaker the other day mention the idea that “man’s extremity is God’s opportunity”. I thought about the fact that we are all finding ourselves in a lot of first scenarios. As Americans we have known that we live in the land of the free, and now I see “ordinances” being implemented that limits behavior to extreme levels. In so many ways I found myself facing insurmountable limits, which is another way of saying “man’s extremity”. So now I wanted to understand “God’s opportunity”. It was almost like saying, “I’ll do my best and God will do the rest”. I know that our God is mighty and great. A friend sent me the verse Joshua 1:9 where it says; “…do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” The verse does not say that the situation is not scary, but that we can dare to be courageous because we are accompanied by God’s mighty power. I’m sending this out for our new normal and comfort along the way.
