June Newsletter 2015

Greetings from all of us here at Serenity Now,

I (Brooke) am amazed at the gifts you bring into our lives. So many of you share your wisdom and adventures with us.

Talking about adventures, a dear friend brought it to my attention that I had an extreme fascination with treasure hunting. I had not really thought about it quite in that way but, by golly, she was right!

For me it all started with the treasure hunter Mel Fisher, who found the Spanish ship the Atocha with bounty that, by today’s standards, is priceless.

Then I heard about Oak Island in the North Atlantic, where explorers have been looking for a treasure since 1795. Some incredible things have been found, but the Motherlode is still believed to be buried. I was so mesmerized by this legend that, even though I had written about it few months ago, I wanted to dig deeper (no pun intended).

And then, I learned of the temple of Vishnu in India, where in 2011 they found treasures worth 22

billion dollars. There is still a section called Chamber B, which they have not yet been able to open. What is amazing about this particular story is that Chamber B is not locked by any conventional method. It is believed that there may be some supernatural element involved. I could go on and on, but the bottom line is: I figured out what is expressed so beautifully in the Serenity Prayer:

God grant me the serenity

To accept the things I cannot change;

Courage to change the things I can;

And wisdom to know the difference.

Let me explain. For me, the one thing that is changeless about any of us is the Divine within. That is the part that is eternal, infinite, without any limits of any kind (including time, space etc.) This is where the wholeness can be found. From a human perspective, problems seem almost endless. Like the little boy, who was holding back the flood waters with his finger in the dike, things can seem hopeless.

So the solution is to know that, no matter how much self judgement, trauma, drama has happened, we still have not succeeded in separating ourselves from what is all encompassing. The treasure is there, we only need to connect with it. This is the answer that will give us the freedom we are looking for.

I would love for you to join me if you choose to do some treasure hunting. During this next month I would like to make a conscious effort to connect with the Divine and see what miracles unfold.
